Summer Frederick Transitioning Out of Project Manager Role
On January 31, 2013, Summer Frederick will be leaving her role as project manager for the TJPDC “Many Plans, One Community” project. As of February 1, Ms. Frederick will begin providing full time support to Albemarle County on the update of the county Comprehensive Plan. Although her position will funded with Sustainable Communities Planning Grant monies, she will no longer be involved in overall project management or coordination activities. Stephen Williams, Thomas Jefferson Planning District Commission Executive Director complimented Ms. Frederick on her contribution to the “Many Plans, One Community” project: “Summer has done a great job organizing a very complex project and has had particular success in her work with the Charlottesville and Albemarle County Planning Commissions. I have no doubt that her work in support of Albemarle County in the coming months will be equally successful.”

Welcome to Many Plans, One Community, the online home for information about updates to Charlottesville and Albemarle County’s comprehensive plans, the Charlottesville-Albemarle MPO’s Long Range Transportation Plan, and the creation of a Livability Implementation Plan for our area. This site is intended to provide access to information about each plan and to provide a forum for public input throughout the planning process.

This joint planning effort is the first of its kind in our region. Many Plans, One Community is being coordinated through the Thomas Jefferson Planning District Commission in order to maximize community engagement in the process and to encourage collaboration across municipal boundaries.
