Meetings & EventsLivability Partnership Meeting (April 23, 2012)The Livability Partnership met on Monday, April 23 to review and provide feedback on public input received through the Community Outreach Series. Members of the Partnership also completed a prioritization worksheet based on topics raised in the Series and comments received on those topics. The Partnership was given additional copies of the prioritization worksheet to share with members of their respective organizations. Joint Planning Commission Meeting (April 17, 2012)The Charlottesville and Albemarle County Planning Commissions convened a joint meeting on Tuesday, April 17 to review findings from the Community Outreach Series and discuss areas for joint planning focus moving forward. The public was given the opportunity to provide comment. Historic & Scenic Resources Workshop (March 29, 2012)City, County & TJPDC staff hosted the sixth & final workshop in the Community Outreach Series at Water Street Center on Thursday, March 29. Workshop attendees had the opportunity to view and comment on current City & County goals focused on historic preservation, entrance corridors and the protection of scenic & natural resources. Take the Historic & Scenic Resources Survey Facilities & Services Workshop (February 23, 2012)City, County & TJPDC staff hosted the fifth workshop in the Community Outreach Series at CitySpace on Thursday, February 23. Workshop attendees had the opportunity to view and comment on current City & County goals affecting emergency services, utilities, libraries, parks and recreation. Transportation Workshop (January 26, 2012)City, County & MPO staff hosted a workshop on Thursday, January 26 to gather community input for the Long Range Transportation Plan update. Workshop attendees had the opportunity to view current & future roadway conditions generated using a travel demand model and make suggestions about how to improve the performance of the transportation network. Information was presented for five key areas of the region: UVA/ Downtown, Pantops & East, the Southern Area, the US 29 Corridor and Crozet/ Ivy. Workshop brief with area survey results Housing & Economic Drivers Workshop (December 1, 2011)City, County & TJPDC staff hosted the third workshop in the Community Outreach Series on Thursday, December 1 at the Jefferson Madison Regional Library. The workshop showcased City and County housing and economic development goals and sought feedback on how those goals are being implemented. Attendees were also given the opportunity to take a survey to offer perspectives on local housing & economic development issues. The first workshop focused on existing City & County environmental goals targeting natural resource protection, water quality, stormwater management, sustainable development, trails and greenways. Download a complete transcript of comments received at the event Performance Measurement System Open House (June 23, 2011)On Thursday, June 23rd, the Thomas Jefferson Planning District Commission hosted an open house at UVA's Darden Business School to introduce the first draft of a Performance Measurement System to provide an informative snapshot of livability in Charlottesville and Albemarle County today. The purpose of the event was to seek public input on the content and organization of the Performance Measurement System. Approximately 50 members of the public attended, about half were from the City of Charlottesville and half from Albemarle County. Comments will inform revisions to the Performance Measurement System, to be presented to the public in a finalized form later this year.
